Hi,

Had my 206 a couple of weeks now and I love it Smile

Just over the past couples of days I have noticed a strange blowing noise from the exhaust. I have checked the backbox and that looks ok? Does anyone have any ideas or cost of repair?

The car has done 79k, 206 138 gti 2001.

Thanks,
Liam

Just found out that my tyre needs resealing could be due to a bad pothole they said. Could this have caused the noise on the exhaust system?

Easy way to find a blowing exhaust is to while the car is idling, get a mate to cover the tailpipe with a rag in their hand to basically create a seal on the exhaust. You'll easily be able to hear the general area of a leak if you have your head under the side of the car. You can always put your hand near the noisy area and get a better idea of the hole location. Don't touch the exhaust pipe though as it may be hot.

Also, you can check first thing in the morning. With the engine just started, get no your knees and press the throttle with your hand while you look underneath. You may see a little smoke/condensation coming out as the exhaust warms up.

Thanks for all your replies, found out it was the central pipe with a large hole!

Now time to add some power Smile
