Sunday morning had dashboard message saying top up cooling fluid. Was slightly worried but didn't think to much, of it and topped it up. Just suspected I had let it run a bit low.
Yesterday night (Wednesday) had the same message while driving and telling me to stop the engine. Upon checking the reservoir was empty and I noticed water coming out of a blue cap to the side of the engine. I have a photo but cant see an option to upload one.
Anyone got any suggestions to the cause and solution.
Peugeot 206 2.0 HDI Sport, 2005.

if you mean this

 


its one of 2 bleed points , its basicly just a dust cap so you could take one off a wheel and put it in its place to see if it stops the leak

Thats exactly the one.
If it is a bleed point and its spraying out would I be right in assuming its because there is to much pressure or can it literally just be a faulty valve?
No other signs or faults, engine temperature was not unusually high either.

fix it asap so u don't damage the engine with no coolant run inside.this is the thermostat housing,and it got bleeding point,so if it's cracker where the blue cap fits,you will have to replace it.

Changing the dust cap won't fix anything!

probably not, but now I know it can be taken off without damaging anything it will allow me to look for the cause and in turn a solution.

While changing the dust cap would not quite have fixed it, it was not far off.
The rubber mounts from the plastic engine cover had broke causing movement. It had hit the dust cap and caused a small crack. Could have fixed it with super glue but I went and got a replacement thermostat cover to be safe.
