Hi guys, hoping someone can answer this. I am currently looking at 2 206 1.6 Roland Garros' one on a V plate which I understand will have the 90hp engine and one is a 2002 that I am told is the 110hp engine.

Now, there is a massive price difference as I know the owner of the 90hp version, so I was wondering what actually is the difference, would a simple remap (for example) add that extra 20hp? Or is there something more complicated at work here?

Thanks

Martin

I have no idea what the difference is between the two engines, but I know for a fact a simple re map definatly won't add 20bhp to the engine unfortunately

I have the 90bhp version, you will want more power than this, plus you have better things on the 110bhp.

I kind off knew you guys where going to say that.
The 90hp is only £450 though, the other is £1200 as its an auto.
maybe I should just buy both!

Thanks for the prompt replies guys will keep you informed

If the 110 is an auto then in this case more power really isn't the way to go.

Shut it u stupid little f**k, what's the point in posting in all my treads being such a c***? Least I can afford a gti180, and to get the cam belt done!

So apparently everyone knows my financial situation? If I wanted a 180 I would have bought a 180 simples Smile

AL4 gearbox no thank you!

There isn't anything wrong with a well looked after 8 valve for driving in UK traffic

Morning guys - thanks for all the prompt reply's last night, sorry I was a bit slower on the uptake, trying to forum on a smartphone is not great!

So - I get the impression that the auto box on the 206's is not great? is that just because it's an auto and therefore slower / not as fun, or is it genuinely a bad gearbox that I should avoid - reason I ask is that my wife only drives auto's and is quite taken with the little Roland Garros.

On another note I have just found a 2.0HDi that may make more sense for me but should I be worried about 167k with history?

Cheers

Just to complete the conversation here, and to give you an idea, a remap on the 8v 1.6 will see you sit somewhere around 100 BHP when combined with an induction kit.

I'm not entirely sure what the auto boxes are like but I was warned to avoid them once when looking for an auto car for the missus. If I were you I would avoid a car with that many miles if you can.
