OK,
3 wires..Red ...White.....Green.
Dip light on give a circuit across Red+White and Green+white.
Main light on gives a circuit across Red+Green and White+Green

Which is the live feed for Dip and which is the live feed for Main?

Come on guys, 34 reads but no answer.
If I had a multi-meter I could probably figure it out but only having a bulb and some wires I can only test pairs of wires for a circuits.
I have a feeling that the live feed for dip beam is the White and the live feed for the main beam is the Red, leaving the Green cable as a neg.

Well it doesn't look like it is that simple Razz , and you have identified that white isn't the neg in one but could be in the other whilst red or green could also be neg and positive in both.

Where are you finding these wires? If you say the back of the head light you have an earth fault if your going to say in the cabin, cease and decist your going to blow the BSI.

Life would be very simple indeed if they did Wink
Addaz guess was correct.
I'm wiring in some quads and not wanting to cut into the original loom I tracked down some compatible connectors. First thing I'm trying to do is to identify which wires feeds which H7, Dip and Main.
I imagine both H7's share a Neg and switch on the live. Something like this.

.
The colours are irrelevant it's what they are doing that matters.

I think I'll have to track down someone locally with a multi-meter to solve the problem

Off the top of my head, green is earth and will be required/shared for the H4 and i want to say white is main.....

But simplely just check this by extending the wires so ie

Connector ---} wire {socket

So you can remove each wire and see what happens with out cutting shizzle

I could try bridging the connector and socket but would have serious concerns of blowing fuses in the process.
The colours I originally mention really are irrelevant because I'm using a connector I picked up off matt.

Doesn't 'dipped' bulb stay ON even when the high beam is witched-ON. So it remains lit (white/green).
From what you're saying in 1st post there is no common negative as it's switched as well.

Multimeter and possibly diagram will be needed for a safe and perfect instalation which I think is what you're trying to do.

Good point, dip does stays on with main.
I think it might be simplest to take a closer look at the internal wiring of the original light when I come to remove them. I was hoping to make up the loom all neat and tidy first then change them all over but without being 100% about the wiring maybe that's not the best plan.
