It could be the top mount on the suspension, it could also be a deformed spring aswell, causing the spring to jump out of place whilst turning through lock to lock.

To check if its suspension related, get someone with a torch to look at the spring with a handlamp/torch to some description and turn the steering lock to lock and see if the spring jumps suddenly at all. Hope this helps you!

CV joints, probably worse if your driving and turning full lock.

If it was drive shaft it would be a constant nocking while turning so say u go round a roundabout it wid constantly nock right ? But mine only nocks while actually turning the wheel so if i turn it will nock but only as ive turned the wheel not while goin round the corner. Does any one think it could be the 2 ARB anti roll bar bushes cart be drop links as i said ive changed them both

Ahh right ive had this problem with a 106... What it turned out to be was the dampener nut. It needs to be super human tight. If your cars at standard ride height you can get a pipe wrench i between the spring. When i did mine i only managed to get 1/4 turn on it but that was enough to stop it knocking. Give it a try and get back to us all. Smile

You may have to take the strut out then. You need a 3 pin spanner thingy. You may get away with using the tool to take the disk off a angle grinder. I use a plumbers pipe wrench and a long bar which ive named excaliber Smile

My suspension bearing symptoms were intermittent knock on full lock and if stationary and I turned the wheel I would get a knock. Not always at the same place. I could feel the knock slightly through the steering wheel.

you can check by having someone turn the steering wheel and watching the spring. It will jump with the knock. The bearings can be purchased for about £15. Undo wheel. Undo drop link. (I had to grind mine off but was changing anyway). Undo strut bolt. I had to jam the nut and using an allen key turn the strut shaft until nut comes off. Compress spring. (This was also a nightmare due to the progessive spring. I couldnt get the spring pulled down far enough with my commpressors.) At this point you can undo the strut holding bolt if you are goi g to remove the strut ( I couldnt it was siezed solid). Next undo 3 small bolts at top of strut and I slid the top mount out past the strut. Remove old bearing and
reverse to put baxk together.
edited to add. My bearing just fell out it was totally destroyed. I have since been told that 2 sets of compressors allow you to pull the spring down further to reach in. Not sure if this would work with lowered though.
If you are not removing the strut make sure you have a decent set of spring compressors otherwise its really hatd to get the top mount back in place and the spring mounted on it correctly.
