all correct tools used found it very hard to time it up couldnt find it autodata books
my engine code is rfk
but for that in the books it a 4 bolt bottom pulley but mines a 1 bolt floater
the only way we could get it to time up was to a 2.2 406 coupe

If you've lost power after doing the belt the timing will be out.

I cant elaborate on how to get the timing correct other than take it to Peugeot or a french car specialist.

Just looked at autodata, what position where the camshafts locked off at (position of locking tools) See the two photos attached to see the difference.

it was very strange would lock off to both but soon as you tried turning it over after doing it at the 180 it would lock up on number 1 on inlet but then done it to the 2.2 and it worked i had a couple of experienced mechanics look at it and they were baffled at it

is there anyone in the south that has vast experience on doing these that could just take a look?

problem is its not so easy to "just take a look" really you need to strip it all back down and start again so as you know this is not a 5min job on the 180's.

Yes, your out of your depth & haven't got a clue what your doing Wink

Also the phrase " All the gear & no idea " springs to mind.
