Hi i have a 1999 gti sp and have a problem with the lacquer coming off giving the car the look of having the mange is this a well known problem.and what is the cause.

I have had the same, but on the tailgate of my Pugani. The only real way to manage it is to get it fixed ASAP, otherwise it'll just get worse and worse, and cost more to repair.

They'll probably sand off the laquer and paint, then repaint and relaquer, depending on how long you've had it. It's just a common problem with Pugs.

Not that common. You're more likely to get the lacquer peeling after a crap repair job than on a 14 year old car with original factory paint on it.

The roof of mine is peeling too. Not had any repairs though. 13 years old. Can't afford to get it re sprayed/lacquered.
