Going to be having my car as track only and when stripping I'm thinking of removing the dashand heater etc would tthere be much benefitffor the inconvenience caused of having to make up places for the dials etc.

Also I have been reading about re locating the batt to the boot and from what I have read it will need to be in a box as it will release fumes? And will a bosh s1 be good enough

And lastly what is best to use for the windows perspex, acrylic, plexiglass, pollycarbonate ??

Any information appreciated

Keep the heater unless all your track days will be on warm and dry days.

Unless you want to mock up a special cover or dash mod to cover up the heater matrix definitely keep the dash. Been there simply not worth it, especially if you are thinking of possibly driving it on the road - ever.

Thinking of leaving the dash in now and I doubt it will see the road again too much to run insurance tax wise and Ishould hhave a van for work next year so just going to trailer it to the track also cheaper to run the van downthere

You could do what i have done, ditch everything.

Cut the loom, remove heater, aircon completely, cut interior panels away, cut away at the dash etc

thats what im wanting to do but worried about the heater matrix not totally qued up on how stuff works on the car to that extent, it wont be going on the road again, im looking at removing all the interior removing aircon and pipes, radio, speaker, wires accomodating them, seat belts, pass airbag, interior mirroe, sound proofing if it comes up easy enough, carpets, interior lights, ariel, might ditch the electric mirrors if the manual ones are lighter, lighter wheels, just had a thought if i was to increase the stiffness of the suspension i could remove the arbs drop linik etc,

Nothing. Smile Cooling system will require less coolant liquid. Just tap unused holes and hoses. Smile

Is polycarbonate any good for windows as iit's alot cheaper than perspex[/quote]

buy a sheet of polycarbonate dont buy perspex as it shatters.polycarbonate is almost unbreakable but really easy to cut to shape with a jigsaw.I took my glass windows out and just used them as a template for my new polycarbonate ones.you can use some self tappers to fix them to the door

You can by hoses that bypass the matrix, or just DIY it as long as it's secure
