Ok, so a while back, the head gasket went on my 55 plate 1.4 16v sport at only 29k! So I had it replaced and while they were at it they did a free diagnostic for me before and after, as it was having some acceleration blips as well.
On that diagnostic before it showed the throttle sensor as a fault, but after the rebuild of the head it went away. So we thought bad connection, problem solved.

Anyway, it's back! and before I go replacing the wrong thing, I was just wondering if there was anything else this could be?
It's usually fine, but it just randomly happens (more, recently) where the throttle stops responding for a second or so from the off and then picks up.
Quite Butt clenching at roundabouts, I tell you!

It's also only getting 32mpg av. and I've driven a 1.6 version of the sport that gets 43mpg. Mines apparently supposed to do around 46mpg av. so something's go to be wrong.

So basically, does this sound like the sensor or something else? Your advice on this would be MUCHLY appreciated guys as it's ruining the car to me! Sad

PS would a 1.6 16v sensor still work ok? As I can get one of these cheap...

I've had similar problems on my 1.4 GLX. I know it's a different model, but it could be a similar issue.

I cleaned my idle control valve and replaced my MAP sensor and the throttle issues were fixed, and my MPG increased greatly.

Hope this helps.

Oh right thanks for the advice! Very Happy I'll have a look at that before I do anything else.
