Oh that shut me up ha ha.
Would it be possible to have a firm ride but one that's not as bumpy, then? I.e. you will feel a lot of bumps but they will be smoother and have "less of an impact". If that makes sense? Basically I mean any way at all of the ride being more comfortable so that you still feel everything but it's not as harsh/bumpy? Like the suspension is more absorbing.

If you lower the car, there is less travel for the shock, thus less travel to absorb and the shock needs to be less forgiving.
If you have lowered the car and dont want to be hitting the bump stops on potholes, you will need "stiffer" shocks, hence my comment that I doubt this dude will ever get what he is looking for

The Discovery at work is a lovely smooth ride but looks... well.. like a 4x4..
My lowered 206 handles better in the corners but it feels all the road.
I don't think you can have the comfort you want and achieve the desired look, without having to compromise one or the other but i hope you find a solution to your problem.
Have u tried softer padding for the seats?..

Citroen Xantia Activa is the only car I can think of that will give the lowered look, good handling & decent ride at the same time due to the active ride suspension system.
Only issues are there very rare, the only engine in UK spec is the crappy XU10 low pressure turbo & the crash protection isn't up to the job.
