So my car failed it's MOT massively, which I'm not surprised as it's the most expensive piece of s**t I've ever had the misfortune to buy, but most of which I can put right.

One thing I was unsure about was that it failed on the Headlamp Washers.

I was told that now, if something is installed on the car, then they must be in full working order, I have an '02' plate, with genuine morettes and they have failed.

My previous car was an X Reg with Genuine Morettes and the headlights passed, so I'm wondering what to do about it and where they would be installed as I wasn't even aware I had Headlamp Washers.

Also, it has a FlyEye kit on the headlights, and on the failure sheet it says

Nearside/Offside Headlamp aim beam image obviously incorrect, is that more to do with the FlyEye or that I left the HIDs in Cool

The reason I ask is that the rear lights failed for having no reflectors, but I took them out today (to find the most shoddy wiring job I have ever seen...) and took the FlyEye stuff off to reveal the reflectors, so I thought I'd ask.

Any help would be amazing Smile

The best person to ask really is the tester.

Have you read the new mot rules? They came in this march. Aftermarket Hid must have headlight washers installed. Also any tints etc that affect the light output is also a fail.

HID's also need to be self leveling OR the car to have self leveling suspension fitted, Can I have the details of the mot tester please?

I want to buy him a pint for doing a brilliant job Thumbs Up

Only took 14 days to the first of many threads like this to be posted DOH!!!

MrBSII, bet you have been sat waiting for a thread like this since 20th March. I know I have. Laughing

The increase in random VOSA checks on garages isn't going to make it too easy for the testers to turn a blind eye to minor indiscretions. Some people are going to be very unhappy in the next 12 months.

basically take the HIDS out put normal bulbs in,

make sure your reflectors can be seen on the back. You could have just stuck temp rear red reflectors on.

this should pass it im guessing if everthing is just what youve listed.

Could have saved yourself some money if you had just thought about this before sending it through an MOT?

I knew someone was going to say this.

But I bought the car back in Feb, and there is so much wrong with it, that I had it MOT'd just to know the extent of the damage, the garage I took it to actually didn't charge me for it.

These were just the few things that I was unsure about, but now I know.
