I'm looking for some help / advice in buying a childs car seat for my 206 - there's not alot of info out there, and hope someone else has them and can suggest what make and model to get which will actually fit where i need it to in the car.
My 206 is a 206 SW, 2003 plate.
I'm looking for a 9 month to 4 years child / infant car seat to go in the back of the car - i need it to fit in one of the side seats, rather than in the middle of the back seat.
There seem to be plenty which fit in the centre of the back seat - but i'm struggling to find one which will fit in at either side. I'm looking for any which will fit in the back side seats but haven't yet found one. Any suggestion greatly appreciated.

Aren't they still rear facing at 9 months? Anyway I didn't know you could even get child seats just for the middle, I thought as long as there was a 3 point seat belt or iso fix points (dont think your 206 will have them) you could put the child seat there.
We have a 'maxi cosi', but if you go to mother care or Halfords they'll advise you & show you how to fit it.

The 206 should have ISOFIX loops. Put your hand down between the seat back and the base and there should be a couple of metal loops there.
I have a Stage 1-2-3 (up to 12 years) seat in the back of mine held in with the 3 point belt. Before that I had the Graco base and seat fastened in. No problems with either. Granted both are slightly wider than the distance between belt and buckle, but its only about an inch and doesn't impact on the security of the seat.

best of taking it to toys r us, halfords and they fit it, or at least can advise you 'how to' i have a maxi-cosi my little boys 10 months and hes is forward facing ... i remember being a few some only rearward.. but some can be either

Thanks for the advice - i've checked for isofix loops, there seems to be 2 loops on the front passenger seat - but no loops at all for the back seats. I'll look into the maxi-cosi range, and the graco base - thanks for the pics to show a seat in situ at the side - the cosatto seat we have struggles with the seat belt lowest side mounting point being too high in our car to attach the seat - in your pic the belt looks like it goes up alot further and should hopefully work with our also. There's no toys-r-us in my county (cornwall), but there is a halfords 20 miles away - it's pretty small so hop they do a full range - i'll try and get there to check out what fits.

Can't remember where I got the seat from, think it was Kiddicare. Grandaughter has been in it since she was about 8 months old (she's 13 months now). It fits on either side, but prefer to have it in the middle as then she can see where we're going and you can just about get a passenger on each side of the seat. Being a 3 door, it's also handy to get her out from the middle
Just checked the ISOFIX loops, and they are where the handbook says on mine. Just had to push the backseat cover up a bit and I could feel the loop.

great, many thanks for the extra info, and the snippet showing isofix loops ! Mammas and pappas are a wel known brand, we have some other stuff of theirs already too - i'll take another look in the morning for the isofix loops - I'd pulled the seat base up, and hadn't seen them when i looked before - but will check thoroughly round the material edges and see if they're tucked in - it definately opens up more possibilities when isofix seats are an option - as i'd only been looking at belt fastened seats up until now - which may have been why i got so stuck !

On the rear seat the ISO FIX loops are hidden in the lower edge of the back rest, there well hidden.
