Got a full cambelt kit for a 1.4 8v petrol which includes water pump for £48, very easy to fit. Just get a Haynes manual save £s. The 8v petrol kits are cheaper , but it depends what engine you have.
I would also change my water pump with every second belt change or just change it if unknown, also good idea to change thermostat and coolant at same time.Theses are very easy jobs to do, and if you plan on keeping the car better off getting it all done.

I do w/pumps & coolant with every car I do a belt change on (as long as cam belt driven), esp Pugs, not worth not doing whilst you're in there, also tend to use gen Pug pumps also unless the owner requests different or is after a cheaper option.

8v I presume... Well a decent Gates or Dayco kit (same as OE) will cost around £40 and should't take a competent tech any more than around an hr to change, subject to nothing seized etc 1.5 hrs max, then another half hr for the water pump replacement and coolant bleed if your going to do that too ( I'd advise you to) Genuine pump will be around the £40 mark, non gen £25-£30, SKF are good. then just the cost of coolant.

So the price is going to depend on the garage hourly rate and how much time they quote for the jub, if they've quoted 2hrs plus parts for just the cambelt kit, so if £40+VAT plus parts that sounds about right, they've got to make a living after all, probably add another £60-£80ish to that for pump/coolant change

But as bikesforme said, cheaper option is DIY if your able to.

Sounds fair enough mate, if you know the place/mechanic and trust them, then that's worth it to know its done right with decent parts/coolant.
