yes, the map is custom map for his HDi, however they are generic map for your HDi,

as he got no idea how your cars condition and he can't test your car before and after the map, and he can't altered the map if they is anything wrong.

why are we starting that again?? this has been discussed many many times before lol

If anything is wrong or if I wanted anything tweeking then to let him know and he would do it for me. In the meantime it would only take two mins to upload the car's original until the changes have been made (and he usually replies within a few hours). This is the advantage of doing it yourself, if there IS something wrong and I stress IF then it only takes two mins to upload the original but if you took it somewhere you would have to book it in again to make the changes, and will probably charge you.

Btw I don't believe that they are generic maps for Hdi's. This is because my mate has a 306 2.0 hdi which is the same engine as mine. Both mine and his have EDC15 ECU'S and are on a 2000 X plate. However even though the ECU's are the same the codes are different and hi map would not work on mine and vice versa.

Plus the maps are slightly different. For example his 306 makes a bigger whistle on his turbo than mine at high revs. However mine pulls more than his does and is a little faster I would say. But both sound good and go like sh*t off a shovel

this is the definition problem, and has no relation to the quality of the map. Confused

Two cars are never the same, even if they have the exact same milage and mods. No saying his maps are bad but they are not for cars which have a fair few engine mods.

Glad your happy, but like everything... Don't ram it down peoples throats and they will accept.

I wasn't trying to ram it down peoples throats I was just explaining how he does it and saying that the maps are not generic. I'm not forcing people into getting them for their cars merely telling them about the pros.

Hi, I know I'm a bit late to message on this (2 year's later!) but I now own a 206 2.0 hdi 90bhp and I've been thinking about a remap. I came across hdi tuning and pro Steve with the emailed 'custom' map and it sounds a bargain!! (£75 instead of £300!) From what I've read on many sites/forums he is highly recommended! Which is good because I was a bit sceptical at the start. I.just had a few questions before I email him!

1. Has anyone noticed any issues due to the remap since it was done?
2. Is there anything different between the Galletto 1260 or KWP2000? How did you choose which one?
3. Once the new map has been uploaded to the car, does it leave a copy in the tool?

Thanks guys!

I used Steve, noticed no issues at all. I used Galetto because he said to use it lol, and as for keeping a copy, I just kept my original file from when I took it off my ECU to send to him.

Ah okay! How long have you had your car mapped for? Years? Months?
Oh did he? Ah okay, from what I've read most people have used the galetto tool. I was wondering if there wad a difference with KWP2000. Where did you keep the original file? I assume on the PC?

What is your fuel like after the remap? MPG better with normal driving? Or better yet, how many miles can you get to a tank?

To be honest with ya, I dont know because since I had it done, I seem to be a bit more heavy footed. As for the miles to tank, have never filled it.
