Hi all.
My mate's 180 stopped suddenly a few weeks ago. When he investigated, it turned out the ECU had burn marks on it.
He got a whole replacement ignition system, keys, locks, ECU - the whole job lot, but it's all fitted and it doesn't want to start. Engine spins but it's like it's not trying.
Has anyone got any ideas please, because we're a bit stumped!!

I was told he got the "whole" thing, from one car. I can't ask him until tomorrow now specifically if the BSi unit came too, I have to assume it did - he's at work now though.
Either way, what's your train of thought, are you thinking that the BSi box is from one car and the ECU is from another and they won't talk to each other?
Thanks for your reply!

Maybe that was not the problem.

well in this case,it means that the immbolizer is still lock, and it won't let the engine start,so in such case many reasons can cause this, unless all parts where taken from a working car in scrappy,as you may have the wrong keys that does not match the engine ECU,or the wrong BSI

Same car right in every way? Ecu numbers match to a tee?
Bsi has to be swapped with the ecu and key as those items are paired. Plus of the bsi from the donor vehicle had a higher mileage it will use that and not the speedos previous mileage
