You may have seen on another thread I have been having a strange intermittent beeping.

It happens once in a while and normally when braking to come to a stop. (Fairly heavy braking with the clutch depressed). I thought it was possibly an electrical fault.

I have never had any warning lights etc. Yesterday I have changed the worn gearbox earth strap as it was corroded. I thought this may have been the problem.

The car has had the codes read and no stored errors.

I have just been out in the car again and it has happened. However this time the oil light and stop light flashed each time.

I have checked the oil level and it is on the maximum. The digital display also says it is fine.

I have re scanned the car and there are still no faults. The car running temp is 93c.

The car is a 1.4 16v 2005.

If anyone has any ideas what this could be or how I go about fault finding I would appreciate it.

Thanks

Oil pressure issue.

Either a cheap non OE oil filter has collapsed OR the oil pressure sensor is faulty.

Both known 206 issues.

The car has done 68k might be worth having a look at the sensor then. Where do I need to look for it please?

Looks like it, its screwed in to the housing that holds the oil filter.

Thank you I have just disconnected it and given the connectors a clean. Is it correct that there is only one wire connected to the plug (brown)

I have just taken the car out for a drive and no beeping or lights this time?

No idea without looking, also wire colours with Peugeot are a waste of time, use the wire code printed on the wire.

Well as MrBSI said,it can be one of the 2 reasons,a cheap oil filter,or the oil filter sensor, the plug is gray, and such fault will be in the BSI not the engine ECU,but since you cleaned the plug, and all is good now,i think maybe there was some dirt from oil that made the connection weak.

That's what I am hoping. I will see what happens. The light flicked on and off so fast I almost did not see it. If it happens again I will change the sensor. If that does not solve it. I will have to take it to peugeot to be checked....
