I apologize in advance for my ignorance here....but...how the hell do i get a decent idea how much liquid is in my expansion tank???its not see thru enuf to see the light coloured coolant thats in and although i do get fluid at the top(just a bit) it could be just settled there with the real level being much lower???
Also ive tried sticking my fat fingers in but no joy???
is it a case of dipping it with a fold of newspaper or similar???
Sorry peugeot but this really is a bad design oversight on there part.

Go at night and shine a torch on the other side of the tank.

Clean your dipstick and prod that in, then clean it again before putting it back Smile

The original factory filled coolant is a milky colour in the UK.

Mine's now orange as it had water pump / timing belt kit last year & new coolant.

Yes mines a light orange,i wander if this means the belt etc. has been done on mine 2002 138 gti on 73000miles???it came without its paperwork(i trust there must have been some,i didnt even get a owners manual all i got was logbook slip and mot.)...but i guess that summising the belts been done on the off chance that the coolants been changed is an oversight maybe...

there's definately plenty of coolant in the car because its strong tasting and orange as i said...only a light wishy washy orange tho..

The French are known for making cheap wine without fermentation...they just add antifreeze...unscrupulously of course...and years ago too i hope..

There not called theAA for no reason you know..haha....and a lot of those bloody alco pops they produce these days are probly not much better than antifreeze anyway....give me a bottle of newcy brown and im happy.

Good old brown dog.
Better than that shandy those southerners drink.

Save the uk economy,easy...slash tax on lager and beer(everything else stays the same)... Allow smoking in pubs according to the landlords preference..smoking areas maybe.
And everything else follows the labour party manifesto...
SO...
Pubs get busy.pubs reopen instead of closing.much more people go out and spend money.Everyones mood and life improve greatly. Many knock on buisnesses benefit..clothing.taxis.busses.snack food.restaurants.etc.etc.
The hub of the community and the areas feel good factors returns.
The community pull together and young and old meet more.
buisnesses around pubs flourish.
Everones mood lifts life improves.more money around.
A WINNER EVERYONE...Pass this onto your local m.p. asap.

Bring back the good old days i say.
No mobiles.
Wage packet everyweek.
Finish work on a friday, meet with the lads at the local, (no phoning involved) hit the pubs, clubs in town that was heaving, get blathered on a fiver, showing my age now.
Oh yes a good pint of guinness and cider.
And do the same saturday and sunday, Knock work monday now and again, if you got the sack walk into another job tuesday.
How times have changed.

Yes..certainly the best times ever...
We used to goto the youth club play pool watch the crystal maze on tele then closed club kicked us out 9.30 then into the pub for the happy hour until the early hours...£1a pint...
Then Friday afters finished early then into town to drink the cheapest pints in the country at hogans in Darlington(55p pint of carling)(45p pint of websters green label beer(not my choice like i was on the carling))then the weekend started and the good times rolled...friday afters a few years later we all would go to see strippers every week with cheap lager and a scream of a laff as she dragged people up and thrust there sqwirty cream covered heads around her person...great fun...

But seriously if the goverment were to take on my advice the recession would be gone in a matter of weeks 12 or 24 at the most...and those good old days could be doable again...unlike the current state of things...

If anyone knows any councillors or mps the message should be made known to them because i firmly believe that this "fix pubs first"approach will really work, the more i think about it the more likely to succeed it seems...

Sorry for going off topic but its important, yes?
