Hi guys mounting my spoiler this week after about 3 months of umming and ah-ing. So just a few questions,

1. Has anyone bolted the spoiler to the car using bolts and NUTS? I was thinking drilling through the top of the spoiler and attaching it to the car with nuts on the underside of the bootlid. Then filling, smoothing and repainting the spoiler clean again,

Cannot for the life of me work out how I would screw in from the underside into the spoiler when the sections of the spoiler touching the car are really quite thin, I.e the bolt isn't going to be going in too deep to the spoiler at all without it poking out the top.

Am I over complicating it, because when I did it with just tiger seal before it came off lol.

I'm sure ill have some more questions as I go lol

Yes you are! open the boot. Remove the plastic covers (1 each side) mark the boot lid and drill. Get two or four short bolts depending on your spoiler type. Then tiger seal and bolt. Job done

It should have captive nuts on the underside. You drill through the tailgate and put the bolts through from the inside.
Tigerseal will be fine if done properly. Loads of people have used tigerseal only and their spoilers are still stuck.

My spoiler doesn't have any threads in the holes that's why I was thinking come from the top and drill down through it.

So just using some self tappers 2 each side, doubled up with some tiger seal should be ok I'm thinking now to save doing all the filling sanding etc...

I think the last guide would work for me except I don't have the thread or locking bolt set in the spoiler.

Mine on with just tigerseal.

Just put a load on, then use gaffer tap to hold the spoiler on overnight.

Then remove tape and resin.

Mines on with just Tigerseal too and you can pretty much bounce the back end of the car with it! lol
Tigerseal is some serious stuff! Just try removing a spoiler after and you'll soon see!! (I swapped mine for a factory sprayed one I found at a scrappy)

Just add a decent amount of seal to the area that sits over the boot lid, line up and hold firm for 5mins and then leave it over night with a piece of wood wedged between it and the rear wiper arm to hold it steady.
The next day check everything is fine (no reason it shouldn't be) then seal around the edges of the spoiler and finger it smooth Wink
This keeps moisture out and also finishes it off making it look a lot tidier like its meant to be there.
To tidy the overflow, just rub it with white spirit on a cloth, gets it off easy!

Hope this helps mate and good luck!
