Alright guys,
I was just wondering whether anyone has a skid plate fitted? Or knows whether you can buy them or is it something that would be best custom made by a garage?
Thanks,
Paddy!

By skid plate, do you mean the underbody protection below the engine?

Yeah, but I was looking for some kind of reinforced one for if I decide to keep the car and go down the low and slow route.

Cheers, I'll have to keep an eye out on ebay because they're pretty expensive online otherwise, and I don't have the money at the minute

Could always just fit a bit of sheet steel under the car if there are mounting points you can use

Thats what I was thinking, my cousin cuts out JCB parts so I'm thinking about asking him to cut me a bit out after I get some measurements from under the car.

The low and slow problem. If you are hitting the underside of the car on things then you've done something wrong.

It's not low yet, but I'm planning for it to be, it's basically gonna be as low as possible without scraping, but there's speed bumps all round my area so there's always a risk of scraping.

Well thank you so much for your constructive comments...
Sometimes I wonder why I bother with forums.

What engine do you have? If you are considering real lows like mine or what jords used to be like, either accept that it will ruin exhausts or just dont go that low
Running a skid plate will only pro long the situation unless it is incredibly thick

It's a 1.1, that's why I'm planning to go down the slow and low route really, I know most people think its pointless modding a small engine but its just for a bit of fun.
I doubt it'd be quite as low as jords, but almost, it all depends on what I find it like driving the car around where I live, as I'm planning to work the way down the coilovers if I do decide to go down this route so that I don't just slam it and end up ripping the sump off because I'm used to a car that's the height of a land rover haha!
