When I eventually get around to the final phase of Junior's interior makeover (and it'll be a while yet) the last thing will be a guage pod on the pillar. 2 or 3 pods.

The question is on a 1.4 8v what guages? Functionality and must have the following design brief....

(1) 52mm standard fitting

(2) red display to blend in with everything

(3) digital display

(4) miust be easy to wire up

I already have rev counter and water temps. This is all about bling value, it's to make the interior look unique. I'm not concerned about what people's tastes are, we just want unique in the red and black style.

Any ideas?

Add a pressure sensor within the driver's seat to tell you the weight when you sit down in the seat Wink

Yeah Jim, I had an idea about outside temp and hooking up a sensor above the rear fog lamp so it's out of the wind blast and away from heat sources so it gives a fairly accurate reading.

Novel idea Mr Drift but I've no weight to speak of and the female passengers wouldn't take too kindly to their weight on display. But the pressure sensor gives me an idea based on the Nissan Skyline, I'll have a look at whether parts are cheap enough to do a g-force guage Smile

Nice idea! You could get some tyre pressure sensors installed on the dash too!

I'm sure I saw an Imprezza for sale last year with such a gauge. I'll have to do some research to see what would be involved. I'd assume the sensors to detect the g-force would be the expensive part but it'd be easy to fit as the sensor would be standalone and only need power to the sensors and the gauge. I could easy run that off any ignition live circuit.

Thanks for provoking the idea Mr Drift, all ideas and comments can generate results with a bit of imagination Smile

That's already fitted as standard on some cars Wink

You just need to find the computer software that reads it and display it on a screen.Won't be long until the legal wrangling in this country starts as to who can access that data when it's stored in your car.
