Hi all
My air filter and housing keep getting wet.
Replaced filter three times now.
Showed mechanic and said the peugeots setup are wrong.
Someone tried solving this before me by gluing and drilling holes.
Mechanic goes rechanelling and buying pipes will be expensive
He gave me two options
1 empty water every couple of weeks. Too much hassle
2 remove air box housing and all pipes below. Replace with universal filter attached to stock intake
I'm going with 2
Any suggestions recommendations?
Any answers will be much appreciated.

Is the deflector rubber thing present on the near-side front lip of the bonnet?

Is the resonator on the top part of the engine bay or at the bottom close to the near-side wing?
If the latter, there is no deflector and I can't see why this is happening at all. Is everything definately OK and not broken resonator for eg?
You have to take it completely off to find-out for sure and the 'flute' has to be present and pointing to the back of the car.
Also, you haven't said what model/year etc your vehicle is..
I don't know why people keep doing this and it's slowly starting to p**s me off now because my mind-reading abilities are fading.

Which option would you go for?
I'm thinking of 2. What's the right way of doing number 2 option.
I think I will need a induction kit with oil engine breather pipe hole in it

It sounds like the original factory intake pipe is missing OR has been dicked about with, the air intake is high up protected by the wheel arch liner.
To get water in to the factory air intake system would take water level with the passenger side headlamp to achieve.

I think that's where the water comes from the side on bonnet channel near headlight

Water shouldn't be able to get in to the air intake system unless a part is missing or damaged.

Yes, sounds like missing 'flute' which is common.
No way should this be happening.

+1 to all above. this should not be happening on a correct factory set up.
Fit an after market system if you choose but in all probability that will only cause you to loose power! While the after market cone filter may be able to pass more air that air will be very hot (it's from right under the bonnet) so less dense.
Follow the advice of those above and make sure it is factory standard; probably easiest way is to compare your set-up against a mate or against a couple of cars in a scrappy.
