I was recently having problems with a 2000 1.9 diesel (non turbo) 206, after discussion on here I decided to get a like for like swop, so I got the chip, ecu, bsi and the reader from a donor car, put it onto my car and all the electrics work including the remote central locking but the car fails to start. The EML light is on steady, car cranks over but no joy, I have tried rebooting the bsi using every technique listed on google and here, any suggestions were I am going wrong would be greatfully received

Scan the codes with Peugeot Planet 2000 diagnostics and all will be revealed.

Diagnostic light will stay on all the time until the engine is up & RUNNING.

Ah yes.

OK, have you checked status of immobilistation?
It must say ECU unlocked up the top otherwise it won't start.
Check in BSI parameter reading and also make sure the ECU configs are correct for the specific vehicle fitted.

Mate there is no ecu or if there is (cant quite remember) its retardedly basic. All you have a is a coded stop start solenoid on the pump. Replace it with a single wire one from euro car parts (15 or so quid) and it will start.

You loose your immobiliser though. And have a choice of removing the pump or cutting a hole in the cover.

Can I ask why did you change all that?! Ie was it an engine swap or something

The indicators and wipers stopped working, which points towards the BSI being faulty, or could you suggest a different solution

Right decided to change the solenoid, but how does it come out without removing the pump, seems to have snap off head security screws in it.

thanks
