After reading this forum I feel such a muppet as I've just bought my wife one from the auctions.
Problem I have is a fault code of p0402 has come up on my reader.
The car is underpowered with a noise coming from he front of the engine after its been running for a couple of minutes.
Any help would be appreciated. How doi regenerate my dpf.
Is it my egr valve at fault? Do I clean it or replace it?
TIA
John

Again....!!!,It would be nice to help them even if they don't search,it worth cleaning the EGR before you replace it,and you can generate the DPF with a fast drive in the motor way.

Yes again. I've posted this information up time and time again, I'm not about to do it again for if users can't be bothered to help themselves.

Surely as an Admin, you shouldn't be encouraging users to spam the forum with topics that have already been covered before? It's no different than the ever popular 'my stereo won't save it's settings'.

And no, a fast drive on the motorway won't help a DPF that's already blocked.

I've tried searching but nothing comes up without scrawling for hours through pages of problems. My problem is, where is the egr valve how does it come off mounting bolts etc. all the diesel I've owned before have been company cars and have been sent to dealers.
I know this my first post but I thought these forums were about helping other owners with their problems.
I'm an air con engineer by trade and I certainly will be helping people where possible rather than saying "search I've covered it before"
Rant over.

The 206 1.6 HDI is normal sold / traded in when the owner realises there is an expensive repair bill looming.

Stick it back in the auction Wink

If you really must have a diesel powered 206 get the proven bulletproof 2.0 HDI.

I stripped the necessary hoses off to get to the egr valve and found the egr sensor disconnected and a couple of hoses dislodged. I also cleaned a lot of soot out of the pipes. The next thing is to get some dpf cleaner and something to clear the rest of the soot out.
On the plus side the egr is valve is new. I think somebody didn't for the sensor and thought oh fudge it sounds like an expensive repair bill.
I just need to drive it now. Gotta wait till I change the insurance over

Well as an Admin,I can't just delete any post because it has been covered before, here in this Forum,we are helping ppl with the problem they have with the car they have,so I would not consider this as spam the forum, but for you,as it seems to bother You,You can choose 2 ways to deal with such a thread, either you guide the guy to where it has been covered by posting a link,or you don't reply to it at all,as this what cause spam in the forum,Thank you.
