Agreed! Only problem I've heard about masking them is that because you've broken the seal around the light then they can start to let water in :/ Mine do that anyway though so it doesn't matter haha!

hmmm might put mastic round the seal when i do it to reseal it as such

I did mine last weekend. Used the heat gun method. Found with the second one after heating and lifting the tabs, started at the indicator corner and just heated both sides gently while easing apart. The biggest ball ache was removing the old sealant to get a good clean surface fr the new stuff to stick to.

Heat the plastic tabs gently and lift off the lens lug. Then just heat along the join to soften the glue. The oven method is to put the entire assembly into an oven and you can soften the tabs and glue at the same time. No idea what temp you'll need to set the oven on, felt there was more heat control with the gun. Last thing you want is the Mrs to go put the beef in the oven on Sunday only to find a big lump of molten plastic in the bottom of it.
