hello there
i hope someone can help a little
i have 206 1.4 lx bought it a couple of months ago, from time to time usually after driving for about half an hour i keep getting this beeping from dashboard, the stop and oil light flashes quickly with this beep but never stays on, it happens when im breaking or in a low gear, oil level is full,
i have read somewhere that there might me a some sort of electrical issue with this cars, i went to the garage ask about it but they said that they need to put it on some sort of peugeot diagnostic but it gonna cost £70
not really fancy to pay that only to be told that there is a broken fuse or something

thx

I will be interested in this as I have exactly the same problem! 1.4 16v beep oil light and or stop light flash. Only when braking and coming to a stop. Happens once or twice every three or four journeys.

The oil light will come on when you lose oil pressure. The stop light is there so you stop and don't ruin the engine.
First off check the oil level (using the dipstick not the dash), then check the connection for the oil pressure sensor to make sure it's not loose or got crap in it, if that's OK I'd change the oil pressure switch after that you're probably looking at more expensive solutions.

Then again a simple BSI reboot could solve it.

Reboot did not solve mine Macca. I also gave no oil level issues at the dipstick. I am thinking I need to change the sensor at some point!?!?

Is this still going-on?!

I remember the thread aages ago.

But you're lucky though, mine doesn't talk to me at all.

Well do as Macca Said, and also you can consider having a new decent brand oil filter,as inside the oil filter there is a plastic part, that works as a stop or dead end for the spring that is located inside the oil filter housing,so if it the filter goes faulty,it will cause this problem.

Other issue can cause the oil light to flash, the engine oil sump been hit while driving, which makes the process of sucking oil from the sump and pump it to the engine is low at some point, and the way of driving, which make the pressure is not right, then the light flash.

Yea still happening now and then. I am going to replace the sensor and ensure it has an oem filter next service. Then we will see...
