Hi Guys my first post,
I stupidly dropped my car keys into the sea yesterday, I didn't have a spare, so had to call a lock smith out to cut some new keys and recode them to my car. He has cut the keys fine, but cant code them, he has used a system called Peugeot planet or planet Peugeot, which couldn't communicate to the part it needed to, he also used a different system to try to code the key and that also didn't work, finally he took a box out from under the steering wheel and took a chip out of this to put into a different machine, this also didn't work, all the machines didn't seem to be able to communicate with the car !!! i'm now at a loss as to what to do, the car was fine before I lost the key ? the lock smith told me my only option now is to take it to the main dealer, i've already paid £200 for the new keys, so was hoping for a cheaper option than main dealer, many thanks for any help any one can give me.
Cheers, Alex

When he tried with Peugeot Planet, did he use the security code? It's usually found on a card in the service book.
If you took the car to the dealer, you'd be looking at around £150 for key and immo chip. Depends on the year if you get remote fob or not as the early ones have been discontinued.

Hi,
im pretty sure he had the right codes, the equipment wouldn't physically communicate with the car, the Peugeot planet would communicate with the car but had no communication with the part needed, cant remember what it was called, and the other machine he was using kept saying ecu disconnected ? so it seems like there is a problem somewhere else, he has done other Peugeots, specifically 206's and not had a problem, so seems like my car is the problem.
thanks for your reply

Have you had the car from new, if not, wonder if the bsi and ecu have been swapped over in the past and could be a different 4 pin code to what you are trying.

Hi,
no haven't had the car from new, so this could poss be the problem, not sure where to go from here, its going to be costly at the main dealer I would imagine, so trying to weigh up my options, its probably only worth 500 quid as its a w reg with 100k on the clock, so don't want to plow to much money into it !!! thanks for your reply

hi, thanks for the reply, that's what I was thinking, he got the code from the vin, how much would you say all the parts would cost ? and then to have them coded and fitted ?
