hey guys, im looking for any members that have converted a 1.4 to a gti. (1.4 2000 plate an gti 1999 plate). if so id like to ask a question or two lol. i have a complete gti for a donor an my mate owns a garage so ill be getting it done in the next month or so so just looking to get some advice an to just double check what i know. after the conversion`s done ill put up a progress thread as once the engines done im having a good few changes done to the car along with another respray. so im thinking a bit of a euro look maybe but sutle thanks in advace guys.

nothing tbh,i got it as it was cheap only had 6mths t&t an i only wanted it for parts for mine so its almost complete i just stripped some things of to sell

cant as i need a five door and ive spent to much on my car as it is, an have already started stripping an selling bits off the gti. plus my car is a project and i like the idea that its made the way i like it kinda a personal thing lol

thanks but i want to do it as my engines not too good an its what i want a five door gti lol, an as for time its not an issue my mate owns a garage doing mechanics an electric`s and as i have the doner car already it not going to cost much at all.

As long as you understand the electrics side of the 206, just swap everything over.
Keep the VIN number from the GTi if you ever get problems down the line.

hi thanks,im going to keep the vin num. i dont 100% but my mate does.
this was what i was thinking to swap to complete the conversion just not sure if i missed anything lol
engine
gearbox
engine bay loom
ecu
complete front subframe inc brakes,suspension legs,steering rack
chip from key with key reader around ing barrell
rear axel (mines not to good anyway)
speedo cluster
not to sure if i missed anything that i`d need also not sure if i`d run into any issues when doing this, so was hopeing someone that has done this could gimme a few pointers on what id need an what to look out for. as for electrics i thought it was a case of swaping ecu an loom

thanks, i knew that lol 1.4 pump wont deliver fuel fast enough, i forgot to put that in my list. i was just going to swap tanks around as i thought it be easier.

You might get away without it. The ECU/BSi will expect ABS to be there. Doesn't interfere with the driving of the car though so just remove the bulb from the clocks.
