Hi All
How does one go about diagnosing the knocking noise coming from the droplinks/wishbone? Dont want to waste time or money replacing the wrong part!!
Cheers

Hi davepug,
Unfortunately it seems a bit hit & miss, I've got the same problem and started off replacing the droplinks which quietened it down but didn't solve it, I've also replaced the ARB bushes as they where looking dodgy.
I guess that it only happens when driving which makes it difficult to diagnose. You could try jacking it up and try wobbling various components seeing if you can replicate the noise.
Items to check are:- Drop links, ARB bushes, Wheel bearings, wishbone bushes, driveshafts, suspension (springs & bearings), these are in no particular order.
Good luck

Most of the time I find its anti roll bar bushes.
Clucking when turning full lock could be top mount bearings.
You often find if its the stering rack, track rod ends wish bone rubbers, ball joint you can feel the knock through the stering wheel.

Just take the drop links off and see If the noise disappears

Might need to support the anti roll bar if you remove the drop links. Just removing one link should be enough.

When my droplinks were knocking it made the noise going over bumps, louder at lower speed. Also they only knocked in a straight line, not while cornering.
Just my experience, not sure if that's a way to diagnose them or not.
Think orange dust is another thing to look for.
Regards, Richard.
