Hi all,
Can anyone tell me what the two rubber type plugs located inside the hatch lid, one on each side of the brake light (near glass) are and if they can be removed?
It seems these are rubbing against the parcel shelf and marking the material.
Any ideas?

They hold the parcel shelf down and stop it bouncing about.

Thanks guys, I had a feeling this was their purpose.
My issue is that I have just recently installed a child seat on the left hand side back seat.
Because the seat belt goes over the top of the back seat and then in-between the parcel shelf with the anchor point at the rear of the boot floor, it slightly pushes the parcel shelf outward leaving the hatch lid to not close so cleanly.
It still closes as I have not been slamming the boot lid down, but I can see the back end of the parcel shelf where the brake light sits at the window pops up a little when fully closed.
Thoughts?

This has lost me.
Maybe it's an Australian child seat fitment thing
Which seat belt goes between the parcel shelf and back seat?
The brake light should be at the top of the rear screen, and parcel shelf at the bottom when the tailgate is closed. If you can see the window popping up when the hatch is closed, then either the glass is bending or it's sealant has failed.
I think this is one of those times that pictures explain better than words.
Might be a wild thought, but could you not trim the parcel shelf so it doesn't foul the seatbelt?

Wow, that's some set up. In the UK we either use the existing belt or the ISOFIX loops to hold the chair securely.
Only thing I can suggest is cut the shelf around the belts and then line the cut area with a rubber edging to prevent the webbing being damaged if it rubs against the shelf. When you come to sell the car either replace the shelf or leave it as it is in case the next person has the same problem.

Unfortunately Australia hasn't complied to the ISOFIX standard as yet.
We are begging for it as it would make things so much easier!
I'm a little worried in cutting the actual parcel shelf.
Do you know if those rubber plugs that are inside the tailgate are removable?
Or would it make the shelf unstable and not fit in the tray properly?

Not sure if they are just stuck on with self adhesive tape or if they pop through hole in the tailgate. They are £12.61 from the dealers if you needed to replace them.
Just pry them off if you don't mind the shelf rattling against the tailgate. How much interference you would get will depend on how far the belts push the shelf back when the hatch is closed

I'll try taking them off and see how I go. I want to avoid cutting or modifying anything.
I can already see some wear on the parcel shelf from where the plugs have been rubbing against them.

It's odd that Australia doesn't allow child seat fitment in the front passenger seat OR allow front passenger airbags to be disabled.
So Australian spec 206's don't have the ISO FIX loops on the seat frames?
I know you wont have a passenger airbag disarm keyswitch, it would be odd if Peugeot went through the trouble of removing the ISO FIX on cars down under as well.
