Hi guys.
Well, exactly three weeks ago today, I got my first 206 - a '51 plate 1.4 8v Quicksilver, for a fair price of £1450 - 86k on the clock!
It wasn't a perfect car, but it was in very very good condition considering its age. The dealer that I got it from taxed, serviced and MOT'd the car free of charge with the price, which I think was awesome. Even better - car came back with no advisories!

Anyways, once I got her home, she was a little bit dirty, so I got my Autoglym on, and set to work.

A few days later, we had a group trip down to Portsmouth/Hayling Island, as one of our last get-togethers before heading off to Uni, so I took the opportunity to take a quick pic by the sea 
However, I then encountered my first problem - one of the rails on the passenger seat was absolutely knackered, and wasn't locking at all, leaving anyone who got in to go on a rollercoaster ride!
Took a trip to the scrappy's and got a set of rails off of this 206, (which looked a very sorry state), which was on top of 2 other cars.
The guy was very nice, and said that I could have them for a tenner since I took them out myself.
So, got home, and out came the passenger seat, (and considered leaving it out because of how much more comfortable the back became).
And then it was all fixed, and fully functional. Saved £30 in the process so was over the moon!
Yesterday came, and I noticed that the rear number plate was becoming very tatty, with the plastic protection coming away from the number plate, causing a water ingress.
So, £30 later, I had a new set of plates printed from Halfords. I took off the old rear plate, and was met with 12 years worth of crap buildup!
Cleaned it off, and then fitted the new plates - looks much neater IMO!

Anyways, that's the progress so far.
Future plans:
- Rear Spoiler
- Get some 16" Nimrods
- Maybe lower (after some time as the insurance is killer)
- 206info sticker (just ordered!)

Alrighty, so haven't been able to make much progress in terms of modifications for the car, since I've been averaging 75 hours a week at work 
Anyways, as winter is fast approaching, I've cracked out all of my cleaning/detailing products on the car, and spent a good 4 hours prepping it for the winter.
Most of my collection:
Order of wash:
- Warm (~35c) rinse with water
- Turtle Wax Insect Remover + netted sponge (to get rid of insects, sap + rubber)
- Autoglym Shampoo Conditioner warm (~35c) wash
- Dry with Autoglym Hi Tech microfiber towel
- Autoglym Clean Wheels + scrub with Halfords wheel scrubber (incl. tyre walls) - rinse with pressure washer (cold water)
- Meguiar's Smooth Surface clay on body + Meguiar's Quick Detailer
- Meguiar's Smooth Surface clay (different bar) on wheels + Meguiar's Quick Detailer
- Autoglym Super Resin Polish on Body + 2x Autogylm Finishing cloths
- Autoglym Super Resin Polish on Glass + 2x Turtle Wax Microfiber glass cloths
- Autoglym Super Resin Polish on Wheels + 2x Halfords own microfiber cloths
- Wet glass with cold water from hose
- Autoglym Aqua Wax on rear, side and windscreen+ 2x Autoglym microfiber cloths (included in box)
- Check whole car is dry and no remaining polish on the car
- Meguiar's Carnuaba Wax on whole body + 2x Autoglym Finishing cloths
- Meguiar's Carbuaba Wax on wheels + 2x Halfords Microfiber cloths
- Turtle Wax Bumper and Tyre Gel on black trim, then on tyres + Meguiar's Tyre Gel applicator
- Leave to dry for 20 minutes
- Wipe excess with Halfords Microfiber cloth
Done!
And here are the results (sun wouldn't come out to play, so not very good lighting ):
(Yes, I've realised that some t****r has nicked some of my wheel nut caps - getting some in the post in a few days)
On a side note, I'm very impressed with Carbauba-based wax - it's extremely durable, and sets like concrete on the exterior of the car. I used it on my last wash of the car, (around mid-september), and it's lasted extremely well. All the bugs and tyre sling came off very easily, so I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Long time no update, but lots of progress!
First up, winter has been harsh to the car - last week had it looking like this:
And today:
Unfortunately, the weather is s**t, so won't get any chance to clean it until next week.
Bought a set of nimrods from Shell-VT - they were in great condition, and had nearly new tyres on them
Also realised I had a bulb out in my headlight cluster, so bought 2 packs of MTEC Super White H7's, and fitted them:
And whilst fitting them I saw I've got a broken bracket on my offside unit:
Which was swiftly fixed with my trusty Araldite:
Next up, upgrading the ICE...
Bought an MB Quart REF4.50 4 Channel amp on recommendation from a colleague at work. It's a bit of a bodge wiring job at the moment, but I can't seem to get a day where the weather is decent enough to run a new RCA cable from the HU to the amp - I've just split the original signal into the channels and then let the amp work the magic.

When I do the new RCA cable, I'll tidy everything up.
Also bought a JL Audio 10" Sub, and made a custom enclosure for it out of 12mm MDF and acoustic carpet:
It's rated for 200W RMS, and f*** me does it make the car shake to bits!
I've also changed the front speakers for some Pioneer components (50W RMS, 250W Max), and am very happy with them!
Finally, I bought a JVC KD-R90BT from a friend at work, (only a few weeks old), and popped it in:
It comes with a microphone which plugs into the back, so I ran the cable behind the dash, up the a pillar, and clipped it at the top by the ultrasonic sensor:
I also ran the spare USB input to the gap between the fuse box cover and steering column shroud. I'm going to cut a hole into the spare square thing on the right, and hot glue the port there:
There's an aux-in at the back, so my plan is to run my 3.5mm male to male jack through a hole in the glovebox, so passengers can plug in their device.
Next plans for the car:
Clean up the engine bay - 89k of s**t all over it!
- Replace brake discs and pads as they're coming close to the end of their life
- Colour code rub strips
- Should I do it or not? :confused:
- Paint the calipers
- Fill in small dents which kind people have left in the car park
- Possibly LED lights instead of bulbs for the rear

It's very good. It links with my iPhone very well, and if I hold down the phone button on the HU, it opens up Siri, and responds to the microphone.
It's got loads of different EQ settings, and 3 RCA outs on the back (front, back and sub), 2 USB inputs, an Aux in and Mic in. I think Car Audio Center are selling them for £120 at the moment, which is down from £200 RRP

Good choice! Just need to watch out when driving as using the HU controls can be quite distracting. Make sure you get the stalk adapter as it makes life easier and safer

Yeah the stalk controls will be used! With my alpine deck now had the support for the stalk controls!
