So after having the GTi a year now, much work carried out yet this problem still persists, ive narrowed it down to only occuring when the engine would be on the auto-choke on a complete cold start after the first few seconds when the revs drop to around 1100. Once this starts to dim toa round 800-900 and idle normally it stops.

The question is how does the autochoke on a 206 work, is it electronically controlled fluctuations of the injectors etc, and is there a way tot weak it? Does anyone know if a re-map/map update would also cover the autochoke settings possibly? as far as im aware the car is still on its original late 2003 map it came with

No such thing as auto choke. The car just runs slightly richer until it has warmed up.

You sure it's no dodgy hydraulic lifters.

ok so autochoke is the wrong wording, but what controls it,is it purely based on engine running temp? could be lifters i suppose, have tried some of the sticky lifter crap in the oil as a "least i tried it" and hasnt changed anything.

Essentially im curious if there's anyway of spoofing the car on a cold start not to run richer to see if it still does judder at all. doesnt seem to affect performance at all but it niggles me on those cold days
