Since I bought the car I have had an annoying clicking coming from the N/S wheel. Sounded like a stone stuck in the tread of the tyre.
Finally traced it today to the brake pads. When someone had replaced them, they hadn't fitted 2 springs on the N/S which was causing the pad to move in the sliders. This added to the usual rusty ridge on the discs was causing the noise.
At some point either the vibration or heat build up had caused the friction material on one of the pads to crack.

As you can see the discs were ready for replacing.

Solution. New discs and pads on both sides

I took all the wheels off so I could remove the arch liners and clear away all the winter crap that had accumulated. I had a little help from my 2 year old grandaughter putting the wheels back on.

I hope she is as handy with the spanners when it comes to service time. She can crawl underneath and drain the oil for me.

Fixing cars will keep her out of trouble Timon. I want to get her into Ministox when she's old enough but may have some resistance from her mum.

Got a bargain on the discs and pads really. List price should have come to £230 and with the ECP discounts paid about £60, so I'm not complaining at a saving of £170. If they are good enough to go on a Murcielago then they are good enough to go on the 206, granted they are a different compound, but they know their stuff and better than some of the options out there.
