My brakes have stated squeaking but on quick inspection the pads have plenty of meat and the disc lip is only small with no scoring.

Thinking some fresh copper grease and some brake cleaner may help????

Have no idea of brand as came with car and 80% sure its the front.

Any ideas before shelling out for some new? If not any that anyone recommends to buy?

What you've said really mate,

I'd try brake cleaner, pressure washer it down and then copper grease.

I bought this last week,
clicky

replaced the brake pads and discs on a jag and seems absolutely spot on. Also means that you have spare grease should the brakes start squeaking again.

Unless you are a full time mechanic that is at least 10 times more than you will ever need. Soon after I stopped full time spannering I bought a 70g tube. That was 25 years ago and I am still using the same tube and now about 3/4 used. You only use the very thinnest smear.

Also note that it is not just the pad / calliper interface that needs to be treated. It is where all the moving brake parts touch including pins, shims and where any lip on the pads touch the calliper etc. When you are struggling to eliminate squeal (it can be a right B) you need to clean, remove any corrosion, and lub all the mating metal surfaces.

One downside to tubes though. Don't step on or crush the tube. It really is supper sticky, super messy, super staining stuff.

Mintex make a special anti squeal grease (Ceratec) but I haven't found it any better than coppa slip and in some cases less effective - I no longer use it.. What I have found does work when all else fails is the Mintex self adhesive shims that you stick to the back of the pads. When all else has failed these have always been 100% cure.

You could file a chamfer on the leading edge of the pad too if there isn't one. A lot of manufacturers supply pads like this out of the box.
