Hi,

my car has cut out a few times when no accelerating (i.e coasting downhill or turning round corner) It does not happen all the time. 2 times in last 7 days. the car start back up right away and is fine.

I recently installed new coil pack as I thought this was problem. Car running a lot better with new coil pack and plugs but still left with this wee problem now and again.

The mechanics reader said it was the coil pack as the engine management light came on a while back.

any ideas? would like to try and have a go at it myself before paying mechanic.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Hi,

now been a week now since I followed the guide above to clean the throttle body and MAf sensor. I also changed the air filter at same time.

So far so good (fingers crossed) car not cut out since and running better. Smile

many thanks for your help everyone.

Spoke too soon with my reply last night. The car briefly cut out as before today when coming down a steep hill. It cut out as soon as i put my foot on clutch but started right away again.
