Hi all. Our 206 display is almost completely dark...just a few segments showing. Is it bad or can a repair be made on the unit?

Yes, backlights are there and go out when headlamps come on. Also, the remaining segments are flickering slowly.

Very rare to hear of a multiplexed display going wrong, this is only the 3rd one I've every heard of.

Oh, OK. I suspect there is a contaminated connection somewhere. I haven't a clue as to where to look for those. Any ideas? Thanks MrBSI.
