Hi guys,
I'm having a problem these last few days, which is getting worse now, when I accelerate, regardless of what gear I'm in, the car will have trouble accelerating, it will stutter all the way to about 3500-4000rpm, it's kinda hard to explain, it won't accelerate in a smooth manner, I can feel the engine pulsing every second and inside the car you can feel it's 'jumping'.. When in 1st and starting to accelerate, you can feel the engine is kinda suffocating until it gets a power boost, and then it will stutter as above. Any thoughts?

sounds like fuel starvation or electrical fault could be something simple like a duff plug
on a back road playing

maybe u have a bad spark plugs,or maybe your coil pack is faulty, the way u describe it happen when car runs on 3 cylinders or 2 cylinders instead of four, which cause the lose of power.

and if nothing from above, you might have the cat is blocked,is your check engine light on or not?

Sounds like a plug or coil pack issue.

Thanks for the replies guys,
I don't really think i'ts a fuel starvation issue, because I've had that once in a vw polo and it felt different, I tend to go more for the spark plugs\coil pack option, second guess will be a sensor, could also be the stepper? I just hope this isn't going to be a nightmare to find out..
Gonna go straight to my uncle's garage day after tomorrow and will update.

Code read. There may be codes stored even without light on. If there are I would clear them, drive the car and then reread codes.
Morris 1000, Austin 1100, Escort Mk2, Fiat Mirafiori, Alfa 33, Alfa GT Junior, Alfasud, Alfetta GTV (2x), Alfa 164 3.0 V6, Alfa 164 2.0, Alfa 75 V6, Alfa 156 2.4 (diesel remapped 200bhp), Alfa 147 GTA (3.6 295bhp), Alfa 159 (diesel remapped 245bhp 300ft.lbs @ 2500rpm)
Why isn't my daughter an Alfaholic?
