Alright guys
This morning I notice that my clock display on my Peugeot 206 2001 was very faint , could hardly see the time at all in daylight and now it has completely died on me..
I got told that it was the bulbs in it going.. But I have just taken the clock display out the car and looking at I can't see any bulbs in it..

Hello there,
I had this happen, the display went really faint and because there was no light coming from behind it you couldn't see it at all in the dark.
Here's a picture of the back of the display and the 3 bulbs twist out.
FYI: £1.50 for 3 new bulbs from Peugeot. For that price i replaced all 3 instead of going through trying to find out which individual one it was.
Hope that helped.
Regards, Richard.

There are backlight bulbs that are held in by bulb holders that twist then pull out.
Being a 2001 model I would guess it's non plexed as the clock displays on these the solder joints can break inside cutting of the power to the backlight bulbs.

The white bit in middle is the bulb holder, twist it & it should release.

You can BUT it's not that simple to change the colour
There is an orange filter inside the display that makes the colour, the normal bulb is clear.

There are two types: one basic one and one with extra lines for temp etc. And there are two systems ... which means there are FOUR MFDs around! Some had three bulbs, some have four.
Pre-plex and mux/plex don't mix!
