Just Got a 206 2.0 HDi
And ive found that only one side of the passanger seat is locking on its runners..
Before i remove the seat to try and fix it, can anyone tell me if the item in the pic is part of the seat locking mechanisum as i found it in the seat runner

Yep its part of a little mechanisme that runs with the seat frame, that the issue. u dont need to go any further, just go buy another, they just slide into the runners when the seat is in place.

Can you buy that part or do you mean the full seat runner??

Buy the part or get one from a used seat at a scrapy for next to nothing or nothing, lol!

You can't buy the seat retainer catch separately, it's only available as a complete seat runner assembly costing over £100. Scrapyards tend to run out of them fast as they break so often. I made two new catches, as I had both seats gone, with a block of aluminium, an angle grinder and files

Mine went last year on way to Wales. The mrs kept sliding forward in the passenger seat which was amusing. Peugeot seat runners were over £100. Went to a scrappy and paid a £1. I had to take it off the car though. Several scrappies wanted me to buy the entire seat

I am running? the same frustrating problem now. The slider was stuck and the driver's seat very front. It was 5 hours of pain and sweat to make the seat move backwards again! Couldn't take the seat out because the front torxs were under the seat runners...
The broken slider needs replacement but not available alone from Peugeot. Someone posted a pic of a selfmade aluminium slider/seat retainer.
It would be a wonderful idea to make one.
The picture itself has only one angle to it. I need pics from all the sides to make sure it would work the way it should.
The original has some lines / shapes I am not sure are needed to include for replacement.
Can anyone help?

Hi Jukes
Ok are you ready for a step by step?
Firstly you need some 10mm thick Aluminium bar as that will save some work as you will want a section 10mm x 13mm x 36mm
Cut out a section 36 x 13mm
Now you need to mark it out like this across the 13mm side. Almost marking in thirds across the side.
Now the sections marked in cross hatch you are going to cut into but leave the top LH corner intact which is roughly a 5mm square
For the underneath which is going to sit in the seat rail then leaving around 4.5mm wide ledge at the end. I used an angle grinder for most of the coarse removal of material. Smooth the edges and check it fits in the runner nicely. Adjust and trim as necessary for a good secure fit
Finally, file a slope on the right hand side shown here for the seat top hat looking catch in the seat (shown below) to ride up over and fall into the groove you've made.
Test it out afterwards to make sure it holds the seat secure.
All movements of seat recliner, seat position memory and front and back movements work properly and mine have been installed on both seats and under heavy use daily for more than a few years now, passing UK MOTs and I think they will easily last the life of the car

NOTE: Deckchair5 seems to suggest that he used an angle grinder on aluminium. That would get an apprentice sacked!
Unlike steel aluminium sticks to grinding wheels and can cause imbalance in the grinder causing the wheel to burst. A burst wheel at high rpm is something you don't want to be near - don't do it!
