How do I turn the engine manigement light off I have fix the problem but the light is still on

Clear the codes using a code reader

I used a code reader not an expensive one, done the job it also took the service light off

The light should eventually go off by itself once the engine ECU has seen enough drive cycles without a fault.
The fault codes will still be stored in the engine ECU memory though.

You need to be careful. Not all code readers can clear the codes!

Get an ELM-327 lead or bluetooth E-OBD connector You can then download different software for either laptop or smartphone.
This is presuming your car is E-OBD compliant (2001 onwards for petrol and 2004 onwards for diesel). Some software will work with earlier models though, since OBD-II became mandatory in the US in 1996 and manufacturers fitted it to all builds rather than building a specific system for a single market.
