hi guys i have a 52 plate Peugeot 206 1.4 Auto only done 46000 i have noticed my coolant has gone brownish and is burning a bit i think it ever so slightly overheats but there is no problem with the oil coudl the be a blow headgasket any help

Has the coolant been changed recently? Over time it will be discoloured, id try draining the coolant, running a coolant system cleaner throught it then refilling the coolant up with fresh stuff.

gutted are these k seal seal stuff any good i dont have the money to repair at the moment just lost my job god this is the worst time

just a quick update could this be my atf fluid in the coolant resoviour as i have recently had it changed and it keeps shwoing as low

Please dont tell me youve had it changed.......
You might aswell scrap the car now if they havent used the correct oil (peugeot specifc, cant remember the name but generic ATF will kill your box) and checked it at the correct temperature
It could be, more likely to be the headgasket

I have never seen brown AF fluid. It is usually red or green.
Dip you finger in (engine cold) and see if it feels oily on your finger or leaves an oily residue. Alternatively have a garage or knowledgeable mate have a look. A small garage may do a quick check for free hoping to get the repair. Ask for a quote and then tell them you need time to get the funds.
Yes, "K" seal and other sealants can work but must be treated as temporary. If you use one of those sealants I would avoid motorways and long journeys unless you belong to a recovery service like AA, RAC, Greenflag etc. as they can stop working (the sealants as well as recovery service) quite suddenly.
Obviously keep a daily check on fluid levels and leave you heater on low as no heat output can be an early indication of water loss.
If your temp gauge suddenly goes low that is another sign of fluid loss.
Also keep checking your engine oil level. If you get a mayonnaise (white milky substance) inside the filler that is a good sign water is now getting into the oil.

Hi I had the ATF changed about 2 months ago never had any problems just this.
it's seems sludgy and browny reddish in the coolant resovoura can't really tell but the thing is the engine oil level hasn't dropped been quite a few months since I've had that topped.
And it never really overheats into the red so I'm a bit stumped the garages just want to charger 80 odd for looking around at it

First it will be a pressure regulation fault and then clutch and brake band faults. Then its game over

Well I would flush the cooling system again,without adding a coolant this time,just water,and watch for the color change,if it stays clean water,then you are fine,but you need to do flushing few times,as it stays in the system.
About the Automatic gearbox,I have to agree with Addaz,as there is a one oil used by Peugeot,specially for the AL4 gearbox,and after change it,you need to hook it to pp2000,and do the some calculations according on how many liters you used,usually 4 liters,this step is important so that the Automatic Gearbox computer knows that the oil been changed.

Hi so I should watch what colour the water comes back out while I run it through the hoses pipes etc ? Only thing is I can't find the bleeding points are they in a different on autos ????

Flush the coolant quite a bit ignoring what colour comes out. Refill and bleed the system with plain water only. Run the car for a while (a week should be long enough) and see what happens to the water. The reason for no antifreeze mix is that it is easier to see what happens to plain water than what happens to coloured coolant.
If it seems good after a week drain the water and refill with the correct water / coolant mix. Don't leave plain water in the system as the additive also has corrosion inhibitors as well as antifreeze.
