Hello. I am new to this forum and being a girl have never done anything like this before. I have recently started doing a job which requires driving from house to house, engine on engine off all day. I have now noticed that my date and time display now does not go off when the engine is off. It remains on all the time but is not draining my battery as the car starts fine every morning. It also no longer knows the outside temperature and comes up with dashes for this. Any idea what the problem could be? X

What year is your car?

If it's newer than 2002, it's most likely just the BSI (controls your car systems) is staying on. This is normal. It stays on for about 2 minutes after you remove the keys from the ignition, then turns off.

RE the temperature display - most likely a faulty temperature sensor, which is located in your mirror (see below)

You see that's the thing, it used to go off after 2 minutes now it remains on all the time. It doesn't go off. It's not longer lit up vert bright either it's very dull. It's a 2004 x

It does go into economy mode because it will turn the stereo off after a while but this has no effect on the date and time display. My car has currently been parked up outside my house, locked up, for about 1 and a half hours and the display is still on. X
