Before i changed to a new thermostat, my 206 temp is hanging around 80. After I changed to a new one, it's now always 90. Is that normal? I'm living in a tropical climate area so I prefer the temp to be lower.
And is it safe to remove the thermostat so that the temp could go below 90?

The correct running temp is 90 deg C, leave it alone there is nothing wrong with it.
You should also notice the fuel consumption now gets better now the engine is running at the correct temperature.

You should be happy about that,as this is the perfect car temp. ,so leave it alone as MrBSI said, and as long as your fans kicks in after 90,then drop back to 90,then don't worry if you live in a hot area, mine is the same, and I'm happy about it :).
And NEVER EVER remove the thermostat,as it should be ALWAYS there so the cooling system works best, and if you remove it,you will start problems that you don't want.trust me.
