he did say that one of the tappets is noisey because of the fault he had but when the engine's run for a few minutes it goes away, i'm just glad it was nothing major because it would be sad to see that car have gone to the scrapyard

Looks like it will be goodbye soon.

Decided to buy back my old Focus ST tonight - gna have to work out the best way to get my
my money out of the pug as I know they are hard to shift and most parts are on the car now.

I'll miss it when it's gone but hey ho not in any particular rush.

that really sucks mate Crying or Very sad

end of the day mate the st is a much quicker car, has more styling/tuning potential than the 180 for less and being a 5dr you can scare the crap out of your passengers

i'll be interested in the headlights and possibly the brembo's and any other smaller bits you may have if you strip it Smile

I'll have a think Matty, I'd need working crystals in return as well really for them as I'll be selling the morettes.

Thinking 150 + working crystals would be a decent deal for someone looking to upgrade.

They have uprated bulbs now as well.

Not sure what the Brembos are worth tbh maybe £170 posted?

I think at this moment in time I'll look in to splitting the easy stuff like Typhoon etc.

I'd split the wheels but I'd want nigh on perfect vortex, bolts and decent matching tyres with plenty of meat + quite abit on top but I can see them ending up staying on the car.

Need to work out what my SP arches are worth really, no clips one needs a rubber but all pretty much mint.

Exhaust + decat would stay for sure.

Matty the Brembo's are for sale in for sale section in case you want them

Going to return it to as close to stock as I can but the exhaust will definitely stay. I'll be giving my girlfriend my sound system.

Wheels I'd like to sell but may have to wait and buy some second hand cheap 180 rims off ebay to get the money out of them. I didn't realise how cheap 180 rims are now days! I certainly want to avoid selling the speedlines with the car as I know they won't add value to the car but I'm fussy with what I'd take in part x.

I didn't fit it myself a friend at garage did it. He didn't say he had any trouble as such though.

Holy thread revival.

Well after 7 years sitting on my fathers driveway sorned I decided to put the relic to use again.

Cost me a fortune to get it back on the road.. one particular local garage I shall be avoiding in future. We live and learn.

Breakdown of cost from first garage.

A whopping £1249

Remove fuel tank clean system
Replace tank strap
Add a small amount of fuel
Auto electrician as they couldn't start it
Change coilpack
Fit two front tyres *non supplied
Change some bulbs
Oil change

Cause various damages scratches, removed paint from alloys while fitting tyres.

Had it for a month never again.

Halfords now have the car,

Replacing clutch
Cambelt and pump

£1350

Since fitting clutch they can't get it selecting gears again so they've had it since last monday.

Peugeot wanted £1100 for belts and pump and £1200 for clutch.

Tax cost £340 - I don't remember it being that much!!
Also added a Bosch S4 battery £175
Bridgestone Turanza T005 x 2 £180
Recovery truck £100

Total cost including adding it and mods to my insurance £3,494. For a car that only actually failed it's MOT on bulbs & Tyres lol!

Was it worth it for a not 100% aesthetically perfect car, maybe not but I've always had a lot of love for the 180's.

Garages don't seem to know what they are up my neck of the woods.

Anyway, enough moaning. Here he is in all his glory sonic on 64k.

Update still not got my car back from Halfords Auto Centre.

It's been with them since last Monday.

Original issue was they'd fit the clutch but couldn't get the car to select gears. Sorted/

Yesterday I called for an update and advised it now has timing issues. Spoke to manager this morning as he was not in yesterday and he confirmed they can't get it to time up to the factory spec.

Are there any accurate diagrams in existence? According to most I've read on the net they're all out!

Cheers,

Nah nowhere near me any cop tbh.

Halfords still have it lol. I wonder what they could be doing with it... I'm still in their 18 plate 1.0 Fiesta! Might be keeping it at this rate.

Few pics of my ST also still with me and sorned. My girlfriends Z4 can just be seen and my van which looks more orange in real life.

It just had Dreamscience Turbo X+ Hybrid turbo & 550cc injectors upgrade before it was sorned. Up to 380 bhp.

Glad you've still got the 180 mate and rebuilding it, too many are getting scrapped or broken for parts now.

That focus is clean!!

Hey Matty,

Spoke to soon on the 180  The end might be nearing. Sad

Halfords have had it since the 01/11/21 an entire month for cambelt, water pump & clutch.

First they had issues after clutch install selecting gears, and they apparently had a faulty part. Then I learn they were having issues with timing on the car around November 6th and now it won't start and has zero compression.

Oh my poor little head.

If they have blown it up I will have to recoup costs for not only the car but all the work I just had done on it too. It's cost a fortune. FN Joke.

They keep trying to say my block has been modified or not as per their manuals. Well, I can't see the previous owner going out of his way to get the block modded for the belts some how... IIRC it was only changed by me @ friends garage between 57-60k. He definitely wouldn't have done anything like that.

I am furious but holding my composure until Friday when they have a guy coming with a scope to look inside. If they tell me it's dead, I will hit the roof. I've been nice up until now, going along with the stories but it's a joke.

It's no different to any other 180.
