Hi I purchased a 53 plate 206 sw a few months back and recently I noticed that when I put the right indicator on it ticks much faster than it should I changed both the front and back bulb but not the one on the side as I couldn't work out how to get the cover off. Anyway after I changed the bulbs the indicator tick was the same as the left but after a day or so it went back to ticking much quicker. I believed that this must he to do with the side indicator bulb and thought nothing of it and thought I'll fix it when I get chance. This morning when I arrived at work a woman pulled up next to me in the car park and told me that when I indicate right my indicator was flashing to quickly but so was the rear light on the same side ( I drove to work in the dark so I had my lights on). When I got home I checked it for myself and low and behold the rear light was flashing just like the indicator on the right side so I am starting to think this is more than a faulty side indicator problem does anyone know what may be causing this and how it can be fixed and if so is it an expensive process

On the hatchback there is only one earth for the rear lights behind the N/S rear light. Not sure if it's the same on the SW.
Trace the wire from the light unit back to the earthing point and check for any loose connections or foreign material. Even check the tracks inside the light unit for signs of water ingress. Also make sure the tail/brake bulb is in the right way round, and it's the correct bulb.
