Is it safe to use these as a main beam bulb, or will they fry my wiring and melt my headlamp units? Trying to decide between these and Osram high output bulbs, which seem to be well regarded.
Thanks

Technically not, although you do struggle to find 100w bulbs that are 'e' or 'BS' marked.

As long as it's full beam and not dipped.

Yes, full beam only. It's customary round here to dip your lights when you see approaching traffic . I have decided to go for the Osram option, reasonably priced from Euro Car Parts. Cheaper on Ebay, but at least I'm guaranteed to get the genuine article.
Thanks for the helpful comments.

Make sure you upgrade your wiring for 100 watt bulbs.. That's how fires start.

Osram Nightbreakers are 55 watt, and get very good reviews.

Ran 100W bulbs (dipped and full) and never had a problem with blinding people or people flashing me back (beams checked after fitting). Wiring was fine as well...ran the car (206) with 100W bulbs for 5 years and not a single problem.

The works Citroens also ran these bulbs without any fires. I'd say your wiring will be fine.....
