Here is my sw d8 v6 not for handling just noise

Got a bit rushed as we're moving unit not lot pics going to get back in to it this year

 

 

Exhaust need lot work
 

Brembo to get it to stop
 

Disk upgrade
 

Shorting shaft
 

180 stainless and 180 disk axle

I thought it would use standard GTI drive shafts. Isn't the gearbox in the same position as standard?
2001 GTi 138, Bilstein Sprint dampers, H&R springs, 21mm Peugeot Sport torsion bars, 22mm rear ARB, Peugeot Sport Group A wishbones, 283mm discs, Goodridge stainless hoses, Maniflow 304 grade 4-2-1 2.5" manifold and system, 200 cell cat, Richard Longman head, 45mm Jenvey throttle bodies, 9.5mm TB spacers, 90mm air horns, Jenvey throttle linkage, Jenvey fuel rail, Aeromotive and Goodridge fuel fittings and braided hose, ITG sausage filter, Radtec custom radiator, Piper Ultimate Road cams, Piper vernier pulleys, Omex 600 ECU. Saxo electric PAS pump, Vibra Technics engine mounts. Samco coolant hoses, TTV steel flywheel, 4.76 final drive ratio, 307 CC 180 ratios. 2019 BMW 530i. 2017 Mercedes C300 convertible.

It not the position of gearbox that's the problem the shaft gearbox side different both needed shortened about 20 to 30mm

What shafts have you used?

Used the 406 coupe ones shortened well twice on driver side as cut it to much lol

That's why then. If the gearbox is in the standard position for a 206 then standard 206 shafts would fit.

No had a pic but can't find it the input shaft to the diff is totally different also back mount in different position. so the long shaft from diff to back mount would be to short

Can you not mix and match CV joints and shafts instead?

No plus the v6 ones were bulkier better of using them ( I had lot shafts to play with broke lots French cars had a pile at the time )

The way I cut and welded them will be fine some burn outs tests were done lol

I'm thinking the car originally had a TU engine and MA gearbox didn't it?

And is it a 5 speed box on the V6?

Edward the boxes are different. The V6 uses an MCP? If i remember correctly

Personally i would have used the inner sections of the joint, so they go into the box okay and dont leak then use the 206 outer sections

Would still need cut tried it and 3 litre shafts are stronger as i said I had pile of shafts to play with
