Evening,
I've been struggling with an airbag light thats constantly on for about 10 months now, I have disconnected and re-soldered both passenger and driver side connections under the seats to no avail.
After reading a few other topics some users relate this issue to the comm 2000 unit. Now I have a problem with the steering wheel stereo controls sometimes not working at all as well as the radio sometimes not turning on for several minutes after the engine has been running.
I don't know if that is related to a possible comm 2000 fault or if its the dodgy harness/stereo control adapter from china. I don't even know if they are on the same system.
Could anyone share some possible solutions I could try?
Many thanks,
Charles

Get it scanned with PP2000 and see if that identifies the fault. Much better than guess work.

I have done so and it throws up a few errors, ignition module circuit and another if I can recall - it's been a while. I'll reinstall it and re-post the scan results

The best way is to do as Macca Said, but have you checked the AutoLiv (Airbag ECU) under the center console,as you might have a plug issue,no need to mention that do not do any work on airbags while battery connected.

Evening,
Sorry for the delay today was my first day off to get diagbox sorted (another story, but sorted now)
Everything else ran clear and this was the output it gave me:
Has anyone experienced this fault before? Many faults similar on google but none specific to this one or on a 206 gti.
Cheers

Well I believe that you are driving a GTi 137 or 138 ,as earlier models have 3 airbag ECU's,one for the right side, and one for the left side, and one for the driver and passenger front airbags.
in your case, you need to replace the right ECU,If you would like to have one,PM MrBSI as he got few for sale.
but no need to remind you to be very careful when working with airbags as it's dangerous and deadly like explosives.
Tim

Timon - yes you're correct its a 2002 138bhp model I believe! Do you know what is an average price for an ecu?
Many thanks for your advice, much appreciated!
EDIT: after a quick look on eBay I can only seem to find the main control module nothing about a seperate left and right unit?

Multiplexed 206 only have ONE airbag ecu.
If there are seat / curtain airbags fitted then there will also be a SATELLITE sensor on each front inner sill behind carpet.

Yeah it is multiplexed, so I just need to replace the control module?
EDIT: Got in there today and found the part number, just ordered one of ebay for £15 delivered - lets hope it does the job and removes the warning light.
Is there an easy way to remove the plastic trim around the gear knob for me to access the ECU? I removed the two screws behind the plastic cover and the nut under the electric mirror/window switch but there doesn't seem to be enough space for me to take it completely out
Cheers

So you have a multiplexed, which means one ECU for all airbags,as MrBSI said, but I guess you didn't got what we said right, the problem is not in the Airbags ECU itself,as if you got any problem with the ECU,you would not be able to communicate with it in the first place.
But since you managed to enter the ECU and read the faults, and the one you got in the right side, then you need one of these:
