Hey Guys,

Recently had a issue with my Pug, i'l try to explain as best as possible.

I was at some traffic lights and the engine management light started to flash, the Rev counter was going up slightly on it's own and the car started to rumble. Also did it while I was moving slowly and it's cut the engine off aswell.

Any possible routes to look at is appreciated.

The engine management light goes off after though, so will it still read it?

I think the car is going in to limp mode or something.

Drove it around a Tad and it seems to splutter and lose power when the engine management light flashes.

Also noticed a loose wire that might be related, it's attached to a blue sensor at tHe side of the coil pack.

When the management light goes on, what's the temperature gauge like at the time?

I'm wondering if you're overheating because the cooling fan isn't kicking in.

Temperature gauge is below 90. Although it is funny you mention that, as my cooling fan has problems.

Basically the temperature gauge goes up to around 96/97c untill the fan kicks in at high speed, and it goes in the red and flashes 'STOP' for a few seconds untill cooling down. I'm thinking a relay or something, but it's not been a problem due to it being freezing outside for ages.

But to be honest mate I don't think that is related, I have known of that problem for a few months now and at the time the management light has flashed the temperature gauge is at running temperature.

At a complete loss what the cause is to be honest.

Just to add, the Rev counter goes up from normal idle to just above 1000rpm When the engine management light is flashing.

Was not aware of that, going take it to a garage next week hopefully, not going to risk driving it.

Turned out to be a fuel injector problem. apperantly they have put in new seals and are going to see if that fixes it. If not it needs a new geniune injector (not looking forward to the bill if that's the case)
