Hi Guys,
Please can someone give me some assistance as I am really stuck and run out of ideas.
Yesterday I attempted a clutch change. It didn't go as smooth as I hoped but I done it, got it all back together and now it's stuck in 3rd gear. I'm very lost now.
I appreciate this is a little short of info, but I didn't want to just write a massive essay and give unwanted info. Quite new to forums, so please be patient with me

Yes all gear linkages connected. It just seems jammed in 3rd. Unable to push car with clutch depressed either!!

I believe so. We kept bleeding until we had nice pressure on the clutch pedal and clear fluid coming out. I have not refilled gearbox oil yet though as I wanted to make sure I didn't have to remove gearbox again. Which unfortunately it seems like that's my only way to go.

It may be that the release bearing is not fitted to the fork correctly then

Surely, no matter what mess has been made of the cluch change, with the car not running you should be able to de-select third and select another gear. Therefore it sounds more like linkage than anything to do with he clutch.
Does the gear lever move at all?
If you jack it up and put on axle stands can you turn the engine on the key?

Have you put gearbox oil in it?

Are there three linkage rods in total? Did they all get refitted?

I would hazard another guess that the clutch may not have been aligned correctly and the gearbox wound on with the bell housing bolts..... that would jam everything up

Ok so I picked it up again this weekend after it sitting on the drive for a week. I think I know what the problem was.
When I took the gearbox out first time I didn't remove the passenger engine mount. After splitting the gearbox from the engine block I quickly ran into trouble of the engine mount on top of the gearbox fouling on the chassis and not allowing me to remove it. Due to position it was in, stupidly I had further split the gearbox intermediately to get the angle I needed to get a spanner on one of engine mount bolts. By doing this I have disturbed the gearing and selector levers. So when I jiggled it about and tightened it up when off the car I have caused a mechanical lock. The gearbox is now back off and I Amman going to attempt a gearbox overhaul I think. I don't know what else to try.
