Its just the fitting plug. My ex had a 2005 206 with a grey plug, mine is 2000 with a black plug...you can't fit the grey one to the black one and vice versa.

Strange...I have replied but it isn't here...anyway, the black plug is from the older 206...mine (2000) and the grey/white plug is from the newer cars...they are not interchangeable...

My 03 plate TU3 206 has the grey connector plug on the wiring loom, it started life from the factory with a Sagem coil pack which was replaced under the Peugeot 3 year warranty for a Bouricord coil which also has a grey connector on it.

Toyota C-HR GR Sport 2.0 Hybrid with JBL & Alcantara packs.

My car has a black connector and is Bouricord (says on the side) and the ex wifes had a grey one. When mine was misfiring tried to switch them and the connectors are different. Mine is a W reg 1.4, hers is a 54 reg 1.4 I think they changed the socket when they updated the cars.

1.1 and 1.4 TU engines do not have camshaft position sensor. Instead of using that sensor for the ECU to determine correct firing sequence they are using circuit built in coil packs (DEPHIA circuit). It is called Compression sensed ignition.
grey plug = Coil pack with Ignition phase detection built in (4 contacts on the connector). They can be Sagem (replace them because they can burn ECU), Bougicord (Electrifil). Chinese or non original modules are without integrated Ignition Phase detection (CSI) - DEPHIA.
black pack = without Ignition Phase detection (they are with 3 contacts on the connector)
